A 130-year-old lunch delivery system meets a modern Australian city — and the fit is better than anyone expected.
When Mumbai's dabbawalas started carrying home-cooked tiffins across the city in 1890, they weren't building a business — they were solving a problem for office workers who wanted real food at their desks. That same problem exists in Perth today.
The average Perth CBD worker spends $18 on lunch and roughly 45 minutes queueing, eating, and getting back to their desk. Multiply that by five days a week and you're looking at $90 and four hours out of your week — for food that's rarely as good as what you'd cook at home.
Our Perth pilot serves five suburbs today: Subiaco, Leederville, Northbridge, West Perth, and Mount Lawley. Every tiffin is cooked the same morning at our Osborne Park kitchen, hand-delivered before noon, and picked up the same afternoon.
